Song of the Healer

by Daniel Redwood

the song of the healer is the song of the windit’s the song of the mountain where the rivers begin

it’s the song of the forest, the song of the field

it’s the song that I sing when I need to be healed

it’s a song of the flower and the healing green leaf

the root and the berry, and the cleansing of grief

it’s a song for the pain when it seems there’s no end

a song of the grace that awaits us all ’round the bend

oh never say never, it’s not that way

and never say die ’til your dying day

hope springs eternal if you just let it in

open your heart, feel the healing wind

it’s a song of the springtime and the budding of trees

song of the summer and the moments we seize

it’s the song of the autumn and the harvest we need

the song of the power of winter, asleep in the seed

it’s a song of deliverance sung with a sigh

you can sing it in a harmony ever so high

or sing it alone in the heat of the night

praying for a fever to break by dawn’s early light

oh never say never, it’s not that way

and never say die ’til your dying day

hope springs eternal if you just let it in

open your heart feel the healing wind

it’s a song that’s been sung ’round the world, yes it’s true

in every language, by folks like me and you

and now our time has come, yes they’re calling our name

to raise up our voices, to carry the flame
